The Chalk Walk is FREE to participate in and welcomes all skill levels.

Join us Saturday, August 3rd from 8 am-2 pm on the Marshall Square to showcase your artistic creativity and have fun. All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate. Please bring sunscreen and water. Some canopies will be provided for shade, but feel free to bring your own.

All participants must pre-register by August 1st for judged prizes. There will be three prize categories per age group consisting of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The winner for each category will be selected by a team of judges pre-selected by the Marshall Cultural Council. Judges will judge each piece of art using a 5-point scale, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the best score. Judging criteria will be based on the following: Was the theme chosen interpreted in the art, ​ first impression. This contest is based on individual performance. Participants are not allowed to have any assistance with their entry, regardless of age level. A parent is not allowed to help a child under any circumstances. Anyone not abiding by these rules will be disqualified.

There will also be one prize awarded based solely on People's Choice. Event attendees will be given the opportunity to cast one vote for their favorite artist.
